About Us

Brian Bronfman (President) has studied philosophy, law, natural resource planning, mediation, and conflict resolution. His goal has long been to help bring about positive, progressive social change. Personal projects continue to revolve around peace, conflict resolution, and the betterment of society.

Marcia Wetherup (Vice-President) has studied psychology and criminology, and worked for the federal government, managing a culturally diverse team in the civil service and acting as a communications liaison. As a result, she has strong interests in inter-cultural bridge-building, effective communication, and human rights.

Howard Reitman (Secretary-Treasurer) has worked in the film industry, as a documentary film director/producer and a partner in a film service business. He studied Agricultural economics, and is presently involved in sustainable food production. His personal and community objectives involve generating social harmony and maintaining ecological integrity with a straightforward approach.

Harry Hopmeyer (1955-2006) was an original board member of the BBFF. His spirit and ideas guided the Foundation at its outset, and continue to do so to this day.

The Brian Bronfman Family Foundation is a successor to the Edward Bronfman Family Foundation, albeit with a new mandate and new administrators. The BBFF aims to achieve the kind of significant and lasting accomplishments realized by the former EBFF under the tutelage of the late Edward Bronfman, whose dedication to philanthropy and to the betterment of society were widely recognized and much-admired.
